Most people go to Antwerp for the waffles. We went for the diamonds.
Our adventure started in Cork, with a flight to Amsterdam and then a train to Antwerp — all to meet Sasha and personally choose our diamonds.
A Remarkable Place
Antwerp’s famous Diamond District is fascinating. At first glance, the streets look surprisingly ordinary. But look closer and you realize this is no ordinary neighborhood. Cameras, barriers, controlled access, private security, and police presence protect an area where some very valuable business takes place everyday.
The Best PartThen came the fun part.
Sitting down with Sasha, examining the stones, comparing diamonds and choosing the ones that would become ours.
And the story continues...Sasha will send the diamonds to Pamela, our jewelry designer extraordinaire in Fort Lauderdale, who will turn them into a beautiful surprise for Ann!
